Resolution of FY2021 Maximum Property Tax Dollars

A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE MAXIMUM PROPERTY TAX DOLLARS FOR FISCAL YEAR 2021 FOR THE CITY OF CENTRAL CITY, IOWA.

WHEREAS, the City of Central City, Iowa is preparing the annual budget for fiscal year 2021 (FY21) which begins July 1, 2020 and ends June 30, 2021; and

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Central City have considered the proposed FY21 city maximum property tax dollars for the affected levy total, and

WHEREAS, a notice concerning the proposed city maximum property tax dollars was published in the official city newspaper and posted on the city’s web site and social media
accounts as required, and

WHEREAS, a public hearing concerning the proposed city maximum property tax dollars was held on February 12, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. at the Falcon Civic Center, 137 4th St N, Central City,
Iowa.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Central City that the maximum property tax dollars for the affected tax levies for FY21 shall not exceed the following
total:
Total maximum levy for affected property tax levies of $445,770.00.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Maximum Property Tax dollars requested in the total maximum levy for affected property tax levies for fiscal year 2021 represents an increase of
greater than 2% from the Maximum Property Tax dollars requested for fiscal year 2020. On the 12th day of February 2020, at a regular meeting of the Central City City Council, Central
City Iowa, Councilmember Levenhagen introduced RESOLUTION 08-2020 and made a motion for approval. The motion was seconded by Councilmember Whitson.

WHEREUPON, the Mayor declared that RESOLUTION 08-2020 be adopted and signified his approval of the same by affixing his signature thereto.

PASSED, AND APPROVED THIS 12 DAY OF FEBRUARY 2020.
