Rental Inspections

The City of Central City signed an agreement with Ports Home Inspections to begin a Rental Housing Property Maintenance Program.  This Program will provide rental code and property maintenance compliance and enforcement to ensure public health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Central City.

The City has also adopted and implemented the International Property Maintenance Code (IPMC).  Bi-annual residential rental property inspections will be conducted by Shawn Port of Ports Home Inspections.  Mr. Port will ensure minimum levels of health and safety are maintained by the property owner, owner’s authorized agent, or operator, and in compliance with the IPMC.

Beginning January 1, 2024 residential rental property owners are required to obtain a Landlord Business Permit from the City of Central City by completing and submitting the enclosed form, and register annually with the City by completing the enclosed Rental Registration form.  The final deadline to register and pay all fees without penalty is March 15, 2024.  Inspections will begin January 1, 2024.
